London 20.12. 2007
My husband and I spent two nights here over Easter in March 2008. The room was small but tidy and very clean, with a modern bathroom. Our room overlooked the street and if you are a light sleeper you should request a room on the other side of the hotel, however the little bit of traffic noise didn\'t bother us. The windows are double-glazed. The bathroom had a very hot heated floor but we eventually found the temp control for this at floor level under the basin. Our room was at the entrance to the 4th floor where there was a coffee machine, some tables and chairs, and a water cooler which also dispensed hot water. A selection of tea bags were available. I only drank herbal tea so am not 100% sure if milk and sugar were also on offer but I would say probably yes. Location-wise the hotel is great. You are pretty much at the centre of the main sights, 5 mins walk from a metro station, and Nevsky Prospekt offers a good range of places to eat. There is a very good supermarket in the basement of a department store at approx #50 Nevsky Prospekt, opposite Gostiny Dvor, before you get to the intersection with Sadovaya ul. (About 10 mins walk from the hotel.) Breakfast at the Nevsky Grand was ok for us. The buffet consisted of cornflakes, muesli, boiled eggs, blinis (pancakes), cold meats and cheese, toast, fresh fruit, juices, tea / coffee, apple strudel (delicious!), omelette, pickled red cabbage, sausages. We would stay here again!
