Nevsky Aster is in a great location, easy walk to the Hermitage. Its a smallish hotel, on the second (1st) floor, it is off the road so its pretty quiet. We had a fairly small room, but it was very nice. Bathroom was new & kept clean. Good selection at breakfast - cheese, cold meat, yoghourt, juice, cereals, fruit, toast etc. Staff were helpful & friendly. Busy even at end Jan. Overall we were well satisfied with the Hotel.

My stay at the hotel was most enjoyable. The hotel had organised transfers from the airport which was on time. The driver was courteous and very friendly . At the hotel all the staff were very welcoming, friendly and accomodating. The choice of buffet breakfast was very varied, fresh and tasty. My room was small but very clean and fresh. The location is ideal for any tourist to the beautiful city of St Petersburg as most tourist attraction are within walking distance.

We stayed at this hotel 3 nights over a holiday weekend and got a great prices of 60 euros night. Nice hotel good location , good assortment of food items on the breakfast buffet. our room was large and warm , I was never cold and I\'m not a cold weather person. I was surprised. Staff was fine, you have to understand Russians. They\'re not very smiley but good people. The elevator shut down after the second night, however it was a holiday and apparently maintenance staff was off. It would be problem for handicap people who couldn\'t walk stairs.

We honestly had a wonderful experience. Some of the reviews we read were alarming but we found the answer! The Aster Hotel is one of a group and when we expressed concern about the size of our room they unhesitatingly transferred us to the DeLuxe Hotel just down the road where we enjoyed a very pleasant sitting room with a room on a mezzanine floor above with an enormous double bed and extra tv. This DeLuxe Hotel had the most helpful reception staff and when we found that their breakfasts were likely to be rather basic, they pleasantly advised us that we could go to the Grand Hotel, opposite the Aster Hotel for breakfast if we wished. They gave us a Nevsky Hotel Group card to facilitate this.We followed their advice and had the most comprehensive and enjoyable meals each day; and all this at no additional cost at all!
Alan, thank you for your warm opinion about our hotel. We are glad that you enjoyed yor staying in Nevsky Hotels Group. We hope to see you again!(Administration NHG)

Room 11 is very perfect in share and especially with the stood wireless internet connection but one big problem exists: the room is very noisy. Next to elevator, the sounds are interval, but when quiet, the rooms refredgerator and/or strange sounds of running water constantly kept me anave.

My husband and I spent two nights here over Easter in March 2008. The room was small but tidy and very clean, with a modern bathroom. Our room overlooked the street and if you are a light sleeper you should request a room on the other side of the hotel, however the little bit of traffic noise didn\'t bother us. The windows are double-glazed. The bathroom had a very hot heated floor but we eventually found the temp control for this at floor level under the basin. Our room was at the entrance to the 4th floor where there was a coffee machine, some tables and chairs, and a water cooler which also dispensed hot water. A selection of tea bags were available. I only drank herbal tea so am not 100% sure if milk and sugar were also on offer but I would say probably yes. Location-wise the hotel is great. You are pretty much at the centre of the main sights, 5 mins walk from a metro station, and Nevsky Prospekt offers a good range of places to eat. There is a very good supermarket in the basement of a department store at approx #50 Nevsky Prospekt, opposite Gostiny Dvor, before you get to the intersection with Sadovaya ul. (About 10 mins walk from the hotel.) Breakfast at the Nevsky Grand was ok for us. The buffet consisted of cornflakes, muesli, boiled eggs, blinis (pancakes), cold meats and cheese, toast, fresh fruit, juices, tea / coffee, apple strudel (delicious!), omelette, pickled red cabbage, sausages. We would stay here again!
